La Biòca

Founded in 2012, Bioca is foreign-owned, but delegates management and has maintained all the Langhe roots and workforce: Claudia Lucchesi who works in the vineyard and in the cellar, as well as coordinating and taking care of the commercial part, is from Monforte d 'Sunrise; the Agronomist is from Roddi, while the Oenologist who collaborates with them is from Castiglione Falletto. After having rented the premises from a producer from Costigliole, in 2013 an old carpentry shop was purchased and the excavation and renovation works began on the premises to give rise to what is now Bioca, i.e. the cellar, the tasting room and the reception, with accommodation of 7 rooms. for the guests. The approximately 11 hectares of vineyards are scattered throughout the Langa, and are specifically located in Monforte d'Alba, Novello, La Morra and Barbaresco; they are therefore all areas with a very high wine-growing vocation that produce grapes and wines of extraordinary quality; some vineyards even date back to 1929! Certainly a very rare native vine deserves a separate mention, namely Rossese Bianco, recovered by La Bioca after decades of oblivion and produced only by a handful of small producers in the area.
