Born into a family of winemakers, Claire Villars Lurton was not destined to run a wine estate. He had made other studies and other choices, but after the accidental death of his parents in 1992, he decided to actively participate in the management of the family properties. He abandons his studies and joins his grandfather Jacques Merlaut to continue the work of his mother Bernadette Villars Merlaut. In 1994 she married Gonzague Lurton, owner of Chateau Durfort-Vivens believed to be the 2nd Premier cru Margaux, with whom, in 2006, she took over Chateau Domeyne in Saint-Estephe and in 2012 the estate Trinidad vineyards in northern California, where they produce one of Sonoma County's greatest wines: Acaibo. In addition to the technical improvements, year after year, for each of the properties, Claire's great project is the close relationship with Nature. Biodynamics becomes the key to success for her and her wines represent exactly the territory from which they come.
