Sassetti Livio Pertimali

Livio Sassetti is a historical name in Montalcino, in 1967 he was even among the founders of the Brunello Consortium. Always linked to family traditions, Livio has, over time, renewed and expanded the estate's vineyards, taking great care to conserve the genetic heritage of his Sangiovese Grosso plants, preserving their original characteristics. The demonstration of his connection to the history and tradition of his family is evident when, in 1968, he had a terracotta wall built inside his cellar to preserve the old vintages of the wines produced by the family, the true historical memory of the company . Today the collection is truly numerous, we have reached almost 1000 bottles, including what could be defined as the 'mother' of the current productions, the 1915 vintage. With a view to expansion and diversification, in 1999 the Sassetti family purchased La Querciolina, a cellar in the Montecucco DOC. The state of degradation and abandonment of the new acquisition is evident, so thanks to Livio's great passion and experience, the abandoned vineyards are transformed into vineyards capable of producing Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo of the highest quality. For Sassetti, the guiding principles of his work have always been respect for the terroir and the valorization of native vines, with Sangiovese the absolute protagonist. The Sassetti Livio - Pertimali wines are deeply linked to the territory and local traditions, endowed with great balance and finesse. An example of quality Made in Italy also abroad, given that it has managed to open very prestigious international markets.
