Campo alle Comete

Campo alle Comete is a recently established company, but with a huge and established winemaking tradition behind it: it is in fact the new reality (2016) created by the Capaldo family, already known for many years for having opened and taken part in the winemaking renaissance in the Campania region with the famous Feudi di San Gregorio winery. The reality of Bolgheri is a dream come true, born from the desire to recover traditions and experiences of the Etruscan region, but also from the desire to compare a well-established winemaking path (Feudi) with a territory with a relatively recent winemaking vocation (Bolgheri). The Campo alle Comete vineyards are in fact located in Castagneto Carducci, in the area that runs parallel to the Tyrrhenian Sea, precisely on the Etruscan coast. The surrounding hills represent a natural amphitheater for the estate, protecting it from cold winds in winter and channeling cool currents coming from the sea in summer. The 21 hectares of vineyard area are characterized by optimal exposure and are home to the most cultivated varieties in the area, in particular Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The harvest is always strictly manual and the processing is very accurate and meticulous. Once vinification is completed, the wines mature and refine in a cellar with the particular architecture of an observatory, where tonneaus and barriques are arranged in a semicircle. Campo alle Comete is a design winery, therefore it represents a shining example of how form and content can walk together, under the sign of a production of modern wines and, at the same time, fully expressive of the Tuscan territory. The cellar has thus been able to create a sensorial reality made of extraordinary aromas and flavours. If on the one hand the greatest inspiration for the winery (and its architects) came from the stars and the movements of celestial bodies, the wines demonstrate a strong link with the territory, in particular, "Stupore", the label that perhaps most of the others it tells us all the unparalleled magic of Campo alle Comete.
