Peter Zemmer

It is a very familiar story that of the Zemmer estate which was founded in 1928 by Peter, great-uncle of the current producer who bears the same name. The vineyards and vineyards are located in the most suitable areas around Cortina sulla Strada del Vino, a beautiful municipality in Bassa Atesina, between Trento and Bolzano. These vineyards have since been owned by the Zemmer family who still produce excellent wines in these places today. Helmut Zemmer, nephew of the founder, who had always collaborated in the family business, after the premature death of his uncle in 1969, took over the estate, transforming it into one of the leading companies in Alto Adige. His son Peter subsequently takes up the baton, carrying on the family legacy. He puts to good use the precious experience gained over the years alongside his father, using consolidated and also innovative techniques, at an agronomic and oenological level, exploiting the potential of the territory, in full and harmonious respect for the natural element. The area around Cortina on the Wine Route represents the ideal terrain for the production of white wines with extraordinary character, as well as red wines that stand out for their authenticity. Peter Zemmer has a fine connoisseur of his lands, of the vines he grows, as well as of the specific climatic conditions, which allows him to best optimize the resources offered. For Peter Zemmer, sustainability is not a trend, but a lifestyle. For example, the entire energy needs of the estate are met by renewable energy sources. The transformation of solar energy into electricity occurs thanks to solar panels positioned on the roofs of the various buildings on the estate. Peter Zemmer has two fixed points in the development of his company: on the one hand responsible viticulture that respects nature, on the other energy production, which must be able to combine a very low environmental impact and almost non-existent noise pollution. Wines with great personality and, at the same time, respectful of nature.
