Giba

In 2013, following the corporate restructuring of the 6 Mura winery, the Giba winery was born, with the aim of continuing the high quality wine production begun in 2002 and continuing the development of the company in the area. The idea of restructuring and re-evaluating activities like this was born from the then president of the Sulcis territory, who decided to restore and enhance the agricultural activities in the area. The company philosophy is to best reflect the beauty and richness of this remote corner of Sardinian land, producing niche but expressive wines with excellent quality standards. The winery's vineyards extend across different territories, all in the Sé Murasa area, origin of the old name of the winery, and are represented by mostly clay and limestone soils; It is precisely thanks to this composition that the red vine of Carignano can reign supreme over the others and can shine like it cannot do elsewhere. As regards the white grape varieties, the sovereign of the area is Vermentino, which here finds one of its greatest expressions in the entire Sardinian territory. Giba's work is painstaking and aimed at maximum respect for the product of the land, both in the fields and in the cellar, through strict rules on plant treatments and spontaneous and natural fermentations, with very little addition of artificial work. The result is a range of traditional wines that well reflect the authenticity of Southern Sardinia, perfectly adhering to the characteristics of the territory and with all its scents and aromas. This winery has the great advantage of being able to distance itself from the most classic and trivialized international standards, but at the same time being able to enter the hearts of good wine enthusiasts, who are looking for something "beautiful" and emotions that make them travel with your mind back to the land of origin of the mother product.
