The San Felice company is located in the heart of Chianti and boasts a very long history, which dates back to the 18th century. The current form and structure was instead designed and built more recently, in the 1920s by Giulio Grisaldi del Taja: sensing the great agricultural potential of the estate, the count invested in rural activities and gave his contribution to the foundation of the Chianti Classico Consortium, in 1924.

Another fundamental date for the winery is 1978: the Allianz Group purchases the estate and begins a profound restructuring and also the renovation of the entire village: we witness the creation of a cutting-edge winery and, subsequently, the conversion of many structures into widespread hotel. It is the only Chianti Classico resort within the international Relais & Chateaux luxury hotel circuit. After the consolidation of local production, San Felice has invested in two other territories at the top of oenology: Montalcino with the Campogiovanni company and Bolgheri with the small Bell'Aja winery, six hectares of vineyards in a single plot and cultivated with cabernet sauvignon and merlot . 65% of production is exported to four continents and reaches 48 countries around the world, especially the United States. We must also remember the jewel in the crown of the production: Vigorello , an iconic wine (50 years old) for having been the progenitor of the current and highly celebrated SuperTuscans ; It was precisely in 1968 that this label was presented which represented a breaking point with local tradition: for the first time a Chianti Classico was produced without the addition of Canaiolo and Malvasia Bianca, grapes included in Baron Ricasoli's famous "recipe". So only Sangiovese. Cabernet Sauvignon was also included in 1979, definitively paving the way for SuperTuscans. A production, that of the San Felice group, always devoted to quality and the valorization of local traditions, with an eye always turned to the future, to innovation.
