This splendid Tuscan winery (and the place where it is located) have truly distant origins: the name Dievole probably takes up the meaning of "God wills" and appears for the first time, officially, in the 11th century. Today the Dievole estate is made up of 160 hectares of vineyards, all located on the hills, at an average altitude of around 350 meters above sea level, therefore in a truly favorable position for the cultivation of grapes; over time, zoning has been created to detect and highlight the precise profile of each plot of land which then reflects the soils, exposures and microclimate which are inevitably transferred into the wine; there are 16 plots in total. Sangiovese reigns supreme, of course, but there are also other traditional vines from Tuscany and the Chianti Classico area such as canaiolo, ciliegiolo, colorino, trebbiano and white malvasia. The aim of the cellar is to transfer the character of the historic native Tuscan vines into the glass while maintaining the authenticity of the terroir and the identity of the wine. The “Chianti” microclimate is temperate: the winters are harsh and often snowy and after the warm spring, the summers are sunny and hot. In the cellar, each production phase is considered fundamental and great attention is given starting from the vineyard to the bottle. The selected bunches enter the cellar equipped for a very high level production and follow the winemaking processes in raw concrete tanks located under a long series of stone arches. The use of cement, thanks to its porosity, allows the wine to evolve naturally, keeping all the typical freshness, harmony and balance intact. Subsequently, maturation takes place in French Allier oak barrels to refine the typical characteristics of Sangiovese. Since 2012, Tenuta Dievole has been acquired by the ABFV group, owned by the Argentine entrepreneur Alejandro Bulgheroni, of Italian origins. His love for this land also allowed the acquisition of Tenuta Meraviglia and Tenuta Le Colonne, in the Bolgheri area and, in Montalcino, Podere Brizio and Poggio Landi were purchased. A clear message of pure passion for the development of these splendid territories.
