Tosca

The Tosca Agricultural Company is recently established, in fact it was born in the year 2000 in Pontida, on the rolling hills of Pontida, at the entrance to Val San Martino, near Bergamo. The Locatelli couple, passionate farmers, already attentive and interested in the principles of organic farming, decide to dedicate themselves to the 9 hectares of their property, creating new terraces and vineyards for the production of wine. All this is supported by the action of the children, the true pillars of the activity. The vineyards were planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Franconia grapes. The company, since 2004, has been carrying out organic viticulture, so-called low yield, which allows it to obtain wines strongly characterized by the territory and with a strong personality, thanks also to the advice of the agronomist Angelo Divittini. The company has always been guided by a single objective: the search for a quality product while respecting nature. Therefore the meaning we want to convey is the following: naturalness and sustainability for the environment. The vineyards are fertilized only with organic substances and defended with natural products, excluding the use of synthetic chemical preparations. In the cellar, this means limiting the use of sulfur dioxide and synthetic correctives. The modern equipment and the presence of the oenologist Paolo Zadra allow us to get the best from the grapes in production. The family business is continually growing in this part of Valcalepio: always remaining faithful to the principles of organic agriculture, the property has been expanded by another 5 hectares and, since 2010, an ancient eighteenth-century farmhouse has been completely renovated, according to the principles of eco-sustainability and CasaClima certified, with a gastronomic offer of local and organic products, in line with the company philosophy. The company's production is made up of 2 product lines: Tosca Wines, with DOC wines linked to the tradition and territory of Valcalepio and the "Vite Natural Durante" line, obtained from wines made from a single grape variety: the resulting wines elegant and of a particularly pleasant and modern style.
