A name and surname that represent an institution in the world of wine, not only in Italy, but also in the world. Bruno Giacosa's story goes back a long way. It all began during the Second World War, when Bruno, just fifteen years old, abandoned his studies and began working alongside his father Mario, in the winery founded by his grandfather Carlo in 1900. It is curious to know that initially his success was born from his immense talent in transform grapes conferred and purchased by other owners, coming from the best plots (cru) of Barolo and Barbaresco. And it will only be in 1982, with Bruno's purchase of the Falletto vineyard in Serralunga, that he will begin his own production of the prestigious Barolo Falletto; in 1996 he purchased the Asili and Rabajà crus, now well-known labels of the award-winning company. Remembering those first moments Bruno recently said: "I was a boy then, and therefore I didn't drink wine, but I immediately had a good nose, in the sense that I understood that by paying attention to the aromas that first come out when eating the grapes during harvest time , then by tasting the fermenting must, and therefore the wine, you can understand almost all the things you need." Very low yields, three-week macerations in steel tanks and maturation in large French oak barrels, for periods that in some cases exceed thirty months: this is the key to understanding a now consolidated production style, which gives us immense bottles, who literally made history. Bruno Giacosa's love for great wines and his meticulous search for perfection do not allow for exceptions: quality must be absolute. If, for example, the vinification of a vintage does not meet its criteria, the wine is not bottled or it is downgraded! Only thanks to a virtuous and traditional approach in the vineyard and in the cellar and to this rigorous selection, Bruno Giacosa's wines always prove to be sublime and incomparable.
