The splendid reality and experience of the Bellavista winery in Franciacorta represent the driving element to trigger the fuse: creating a winery from scratch in one of the most suitable territories in Tuscany, namely the Bolgheri area. This is the challenge that the Moretti family has set itself and the investments start from here. We are near the ancient village of Suvereto, in Tuscany, in the province of Livorno, on those iron hills of the Val di Cornia that look towards the Tyrrhenian Sea. This is how the Petra Agricultural Company was born, among the ancient Etruscan charm, the magical Tuscan landscape and the very high potential of the territory in question. This creates a modern, beautiful and functional cellar. The path begins with a correct pedoclimatic study to understand the different characteristics of the areas and soils, to enhance them and best express them.
The Petra winery, run by Vittorio Moretti and his daughter Francesca, stands out for its elegant, profound wines, an expression not only of the terroir, but also of the tradition of these areas and above all of the passion of the Moretti family.
The cellar was specially designed and created by Mario Botta, an international starchitect, who exudes personality and, above all, functionality and at the same time an ideal of close connection with the land.
Today the Petra winery offers bottles that stand out for their balance and elegance, a perfect combination of brightness, finesse and gustatory intensity, starting from the "Colle al Fico", a Tuscan red wine obtained from pure syrah, or the "Hebo", horse of the company, based on Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Finally, we must mention the "Quercegobbe" (pure Merlot) and "La Balena" (purity Viogner, a variety originating from the Rhone Valley), both aged in barrique.
