Colpetrone is a company founded in 1995 and belongs to the Tenute del Cerro galaxy, a group of agricultural companies that first belonged to the Agnelli family and, currently, to the Unipol insurance group. We are in the production area of Montefalco wines, i.e. in the center of Umbria, in a hilly area located in an excellent position and with particular geological characteristics, decidedly favorable to viticulture. Sagrantino is the native vine of this area, one of the oldest in Italy; the winery also produces Rosso di Montefalco DOC and the well-known Umbrian white Grechetto, as well as an intense Sagrantino passito. Extending over sixty hectares of vineyards, the Còlpetrone winery is rightfully among the most important wineries in the vast Umbrian territorial area and over the years has been able to establish itself thanks to wines of great solidity and modernity. Sagrantino is a full, powerful, tannic and therefore long-lived, elegant wine, among the most important reds of the entire Peninsula. A wine rich in tannins and polyphenols which, if left to mature for the necessary time, is able to restore a unique taste profile. In the vineyard, agricultural management is conventional, but fully respectful of the balance of the environment, nature and ecosystem and also in the cellar, under the oenological supervision of Raffaele Pistucchia and taking advantage of the advice of one of the most important oenologists in the world, namely Riccardo Cotarella, everything is aimed at producing grapes and, consequently, wines of the highest quality. The results can be seen and are also highly appreciated by critics and the public: from Sagrantino "Sacer" to Sagrantino Passito, arriving at Grechetto dell'Umbria, without forgetting Rosso di Montefalco: wines that will excite you and get to know the most authentic and evocative of the Montefalco area.
