Grillesino

Grillesino belongs to a famous family of wine brands (including Col de' Salici , a new concept project on Prosecco di Valdobbiadene) created by Giancarlo Notari , a prestigious and esteemed name in the world of wine, as a historic collaborator of the Marchesi winery Antinori for over thirty years. Giancarlo, with the collaboration of the Antinori family , therefore decides to dedicate himself to a new project: producing and distributing quality wines by creating new brands, according to his own taste and profound knowledge and experience of the wine market, in Italy and abroad. The date of 1997 marks the beginning of this great project, which sees the support of the Marquis Piero and was born under the name of Compagnia del Vino . Two years later, in 1999, Il Grillesino was born, a winery in the heart of the Maremma, precisely in the wonderful hilly area near Magliano , in the province of Grosseto, in the heart of the Morellino di Scansano production area, which brings with it a great ambition: to enhance the typical local terroir with its main grape variety, Sangiovese di Toscana , from which the famous Morellino di Scansano is born, but also to produce excellent wines with international grape varieties such as cabernet sauvignon, pinot blanc, viognier. The company today reaches an extension of 42 hectares of vineyard land, in which the varieties that have proven to produce the best wines are cultivated. A modern and dynamic reality, whose wines stand out for their elegance, ready to drink, but also for their longevity. White and red wines always characterized by a central element: respecting and passing on local traditions, thus reflecting the true soul of the Maremma, which can be breathed in every glass. The project was therefore largely successful and realized, not only that, but it was one of the actors in the rebirth of this wine, now so well known and appreciated: Morellino di Scansano.
