Ridolfi

Ridolfi is a name of great historical resonance in the world of Tuscan wine; since the Middle Ages there have been traces of the agricultural activities of this ancient Tuscan family, so much so that today that same coat of arms shines on the labels of this great winery. Ridolfi wines are still today the product of a passion and a spirit that have united stories and generations and which are today carried forward with great success by the Peretti family who have made these principles their own. Today the property consists of 2 estates, in Montalcino and Tenuta Rocchetto in Larciano , with a total of 54 hectares of land, of which 21 are planted with vineyards. It is a tenacious pursuit of excellence, the legacy of a noble Tuscan taste that has been handed down intact throughout the history of this ancient family. The objective, immediately shared, is the spirit of expressing the typical nature of this land and leaving a sign of its uniqueness in the glasses of wine produced, especially the very large versions of Brunello di Montalcino. The spaces and historic structures were renovated in 2014, according to modern oenology, always respecting the original configuration of the village of Mercatale. All the grapes are harvested by hand, carrying out a first selection in the vineyard and a second in the cellar. Only native yeasts are used, therefore not synthetic. The wines then mature in large barrels, mainly made of French and Slavonian oak, there are no barriques in the cellar. This is in accordance with the precious local tradition, where the refinements are long and patient because the wine always needs time. It is thanks to this belief that the quality of Ridolfi wines is also the result of a particularly cutting-edge company. Competent and specialized professionalism, innovative winemaking and bottling techniques have combined the experience of the "old" and artisanal processes, enhancing their potential and improving their performance. Without ever distorting the soul of the wine. Because respect is another essential value of Ridolfi. Because nature repays man who does not betray the earth. And this is precisely the key element: respect for the land is an essential value for Ridolfi. The work in the vineyard is totally manual and is carried out following the dictates of organic farming . All this translates into classic and traditional wines, respectful of the centenary history of Montalcino.
