Doyard

The Domain Doyard is located in Vertus, in the Cote de Blanc, one of the most suitable areas in the entire Champagne area for the production of the most famous sparkling wine in the world, especially based on Chardonnay. The winery has a truly long history, we are in the sixteenth generation of the Doyard family, of which the first twelve worked as vignerons, that is, as producers of grapes, then sold to more structured wineries, while the last four chose the path of production in own, like Recoltant Manipulant, i.e. producers of grapes, but also producers of champagne with their own label. It must be said that in the Doyard family, the founder Maurice was a leading figure in the development and promotion of the Champagne region, first as a leader of the winemakers and then as co-founder of the most important institute in the area: the CIVC, Comitee Interprofessionel des Vins des Champagne. Today the Domain Doyard has over 10 hectares of vineyards, divided and located in the most prestigious areas of the Cote de Blanc, namely Oger, Oger sur Mesnil, Avise, Cramant and Ay; names that evoke great emotions in enthusiasts because the best grapes for the best champagne crus are born from these lands and these vineyards. It is not for nothing that we are in the Grand Cru classification of champagne, that is, the area of Champagne where the best grapes are grown. Today the company is led by Yannick and his son Guillaume who faithfully follow the traditional and above all artisanal production methods. All labels are identified with the Blanc de Blanc classification, that is, produced only with Chardonnay grapes, the specialty of the house and the area. The periods on the yeasts are very long, always several years, and the final dosage is also always at a minimum to give the best possible representation of the reference terroir. Great champagnes in limited production.
