Eric Taillet

We are in the Marne Valley, the area of Champagne most suited to Pinot Meunier , one of the three main vines of the region, in addition to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Eric Taillet is defined as one of the most authoritative producers of this vine and this certainly does honor to him and his family who for 4 generations have put their utmost commitment and passion into the production of Pinot Meunier champagne. The activity is decidedly artisanal, the estate consists of just under 6 hectares of vineyards, precisely in the Beval valley, in the northern area of the Vallè de la Marne. The annual production is around 35,000 bottles per year and collects the best of the winery's production, while the remaining part is sold to the Maisons. Taillet has a strong sensitivity to the environment and all its production procedures (both in the vineyard and in the cellar) are conducted in a regime close to organic . Furthermore, with time and experience, Eric realized how the oldest family vineyards (some dating back to 1950) had unique and often "unrepeatable" characteristics from harvest to harvest. Thus, year after year, precious and unique labels are born, aimed at enhancing different "terroirs" (soil, exposure, microclimate), which express such different wines, from year to year. Here are the 3 most representative labels: " Bansionensi ", " Bois de Binson " and " Le Grand Marais " which represent three different interpretations of pinot meunier. Clearly the 3 champagnes are united by the same hand, that is, obsessive attention in winemaking by Taillet, with very long refinements on the yeasts, in the bottle, and with very low dosages of liqueur d'expedition. The goal is to let the terroir and the grapes speak without conditioning of any kind.
