Cenatiempo

The wine produced on the island of Ischia represents a centuries-old tradition, in a truly unusual and particular place. With the Cenatiempo winery we are in the heart of the island, on the state road that leads from the port of Ischia to Casamicciola. The birth of the winery dates back to the very first post-war period, when the winemaking vocation and culture that we know today did not yet exist. We therefore begin to buy grapes from small island farmers and transform them into wine. Subsequently, the cellar expanded, moving to what is the current production site. Upon the death of his father Francesco, the management of the company passed to his son, Pasquale Cenatiempo, who increased and modernized production, maintaining the values of the past firmly and, at the same time, with an eye to the future. Viticulture in Ischia has always been a "heroic", extreme viticulture, which goes from the coast, a few meters above the sea, up to over 600 meters above sea level and, obviously, the ideal vineyards are those hosted on narrow terraces which receive the best possible sunstroke. Over time, to best represent the Ischia area, the company has equipped itself with a large and structured structure. Alongside the direct management of the vineyard, there is the processing of the grapes, from harvesting to bottling, and distribution to customers. The winery is currently present in a large part of Italy, in California, Great Britain and also in Australia. Cenatiempo wines certainly have a main, easily identifiable characteristic, namely the territorial identity: the minerality of the volcanic soil of Ischia, the flavor of an island wine, the hints of Mediterranean scrub that make up the viticultural panorama of Ischia. Cenatiempo wines express the volcanic and maritime nature of the Ischia land. The range of wines produced, white and red, truly represent the best of the qualities and suggestions of Ischia oenology.
