Distant origins for the Bisci agricultural company, founded by the brothers Pierino and Giuseppe Bisci in 1972. At the time the brothers purchased around 25 hectares in the Matelica area, today an area known for its strong connotation and wine-growing vocation, but at the time completely unknown; we are in a beautiful hilly area between the provinces of Macerata and Ancona. Thanks to intuition, passion and dedication, over time the Bisci family has transformed the company into a point of reference for the production of Verdicchio di Matelica, in friendly contrast with the other Verdicchio from the Marche: that of the Colli di Jesi. From generation to generation, today the company is managed by the sons Mauro and Tito who, convinced, pursue the objectives of their predecessors, namely deep respect for the terroir (i.e. the traditions, the microclimate and the geology of the area) and for the environment as a heritage to be passed down intact to future generations. Approximately 18 hectares are used for the cultivation of Verdicchio di Matelica, while the remaining 7 are cultivated with Merlot, Sangiovese and Sauvignon. The vineyards are located on the hills, at an altitude varying between 320 and 370 meters above sea level with southern exposure. The principles set for vine cultivation are linked to high quality principles, following the organic method, as a process and system for producing healthy grapes and wines, to the benefit of the surrounding environment. The range of wines from the Bisci Agricultural Company is wide. 3 types of Verdicchio di Matelica docg; 2 very interesting red wines. the “Rosso Fagliano” and the “Villa Castiglioni”, made with Merlot and Sangiovese grapes and 1 rosé called “Jacqueline”; the catalog continues with a Charmat rosé method sparkling wine, produced from a blend of Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Confirming the absolute excellence of the Bisci wines are the numerous awards obtained over the years from the most prestigious guides and the most authoritative critics in the wine sector such as: Wine Spectator, Bibenda and the Vinitaly Competition.
