Cascina Carlot

A long family history that was born, almost by chance, at the end of the 19th century with Carlo Marchisio, known as Carlòt, the sole owner of the farmhouse and surrounding vineyards. In 1920, having no heirs, he assigned the management of the estate to Mario Mo, grandfather of the current owner, who worked for him at the time. Tenacity, passion and determination led the latter to purchase the farm a few years later. Thus was born the Mo dynasty, linked to this land and, above all, to Cascina Carlot. Mario will have four children, but only two will be interested in agricultural activities, namely Giovanni and Angelo, who in fact take over the management of the estate. Coming to the present day, family events have caused the inheritance to fall on Angelo and subsequently on his son Claudio who, with pride, continues today the path started by his grandfather. Cascina Carlòt is therefore a family-run winery, with an eye to the environment and with a truly excellent range of local wines. Claudio Mo successfully carries forward the typical Piedmontese philosophy according to which wine is made first in the vineyard and then in the cellar and therefore loves the definition of winemaker, a man who works in the vineyard. The product portfolio best expresses these roots; all the wines tell the story of the territory and each native vine reflects its tradition. Consistent with his love for the territory he lives in, following the rhythms set by nature, Claudio has laid the foundations for creating a company regulated by the principles of biodiversity, creating hazelnut groves and orchards around the vineyards and creating energy production systems based on energy renewables and even rainwater collection.
