Borgo Maragliano

The progenitor of the Borgo Magliano estate is certainly Giovanni Galliano who already in 1850 purchased the first lands in the municipality of Loazzolo, with a sense of foresight that would allow the following five generations to create and manage a winery that is particularly appreciated today. Giovanni had traveled a lot and this allowed him to broaden his horizons and believe, even then, in the cultivation of vines. We arrive at the last decades of the 20th century when Carlo, Giovanni's great-grandson, spurred and stimulated by his father Giuseppe, studied Oenology in Alba and immediately tried his hand at making wine from the main grape of the Langa, Moscato. Interesting wines are born, but above all the project develops, never experimented in these lands, until then dedicated to the cultivation of Moscato, to produce a Classic Method sparkling wine from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. The experiment, also thanks to such unique pedoclimatic situations and in favor, they agree with him. Today Borgo Maragliano has in its portfolio several classic method sparkling wines that represent the history and experimentation of the winery. It must be said that the harvest is the crucial moment that concludes a year of work and dedication and requires great judgment and a lot of experience. Even in the cellar, everything is carried out with extreme care, attention and respect for agronomic and production techniques. Use of chemical products to a minimum, to respect the environment as much as possible. We work with the aim of keeping production low through the so-called "green harvest" which has the aim of reducing the quantity of grapes produced, thus raising the quality of the wine obtained, taking into consideration the climatic conditions and the characteristics of the vintage. In the aging rooms the wine rests surrounded by silence, protected from light and temperature changes, and refines, consolidates its personality and strengthens its character. Production today is divided into 3 lines: "I VERTICI" which sees the production of wines united by the intention of proposing "extreme interpretations" of their territory in which the ability to dare gives us the highest quality. “I CAPISALDI”: here, among these rugged and steep hills, the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines rise in the bottle, expressing fullness, persistence and seductive elegance. The heart of the Borgo Maragliano project is, lastly, "GLI INTUITIVI" wines that express the ability of the territory to offer immediate and highly refined wines, appreciated by the public.
