Doro Princic

In the Pradis area, municipality of Cormòns, Isidoro Princic began producing and bottling wines way back in 1952, thus being one of the first winemakers to place trust and hope in the then unknown wines of this extraordinary area, the Collio. After seventy years, his son Alessandro, assisted by his wife Grazia, continues his father's tradition, as evidence of the great family passion and as great proof that his father Isidoro was not at all wrong in blindly believing in Collio wines, becoming over time a point of reference for all producers in the area. The seven hectares of land host various types of vines, among which the native ones such as Ribolla Gialla, Tocai and Istrian Malvasia stand out. The area offers a very particular terrain, characterized by Eocene marl, called "ponca", which makes up the hills and gentle sunny slopes of the area, guaranteeing the wine a fresh and genuine minerality. Given this characteristic, the winemaking work focuses heavily on respecting the grapes and the company objective is to bring out the unique notes provided by the terroir, following Isidoro's lessons and traditions. The reds are then refined in large oak barrels, while the whites rest in steel tanks, previously deprived of contact with the skins. The final production is limited in terms of number of bottles, but this is with the aim of guaranteeing a very high quality of every single bottle and label created. Among the prominent products we certainly find Malvasia and Ribolla Gialla "Blue Label", extremely balanced whites capable of revealing everything that the nature of the Collio has been able to express for centuries.
