Podere Prospero was born from the fall in love of a woman, Carla Prospero, for the town of Bolgheri, for its hills and for its ability to be a world of its own, capable of bringing unique and unforgettable moments and emotions. With these sensations in her heart, Carla purchased a small farm surrounded by cabernet and merlot cultivations in 2003 to be able to give a personal shape and concreteness to the area that surrounds her. Bolgheri and its surroundings are a particular area, they do not have a very ancient history from the point of view of viticulture, due to the territory not being exactly ideal for the growth of Sangiovese, a vine that has instead made the history of Tuscany. The Bolgheri area has turned out to be excellent land for vines of French origin; thanks to the hills that shield the cold northern winds on one side and the Tyrrhenian Sea on the other, Bolgheri has become a sort of perfect cradle for grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot which have found a second home and life here. Podere Prospero is located in a particularly valuable and ideal area within the denomination and, to enhance this particular condition, it was decided to work with the utmost respect for the environment and nature; every grape that is produced is checked and selected to guarantee the highest possible quality, so as to be able to reach the winemaking phase with a wine capable of best expressing the potential of the territory. The final product is a single label, a Bolgheri Rosso DOC of international quality, based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, appreciated and esteemed throughout the world for its particular and intriguing notes
