Maison Mirabeau

We are in the heart of Provence, a fragrant and wild land at the same time, known throughout the world for the production of elegant rosé wines, both still and sparkling. It is with this land that Stephen Cronk and his wife fall in love and decide to leave the City of London and financial affairs to move to a small Provençal village, Cotignac. We are in 2008 and shortly thereafter the couple gives life to the Mirabeau maison, both driven by their passion for wine and their love for these intriguing landscapes, in the heart of the south of France. The project involves the production of high-level rosé wines, as in the best tradition of the area. They choose an estate in the area of the Réserve Naturelle Nationale de la Plaine des Maures, an almost uncontaminated place, located in the hinterland of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The wines produced fall under the AOC Côte de Provence and the estate extends over 20 hectares, of which 14 are titated. The choice of cultivated grapes inexorably falls on the classic vines of the southern regions of France: Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Rolle. The climate is truly favourable, typically Mediterranean, hot in summer, but always windy and moved by sea breezes. The Cronk couple are very attentive to the environmental impact of their agricultural activity, especially regarding the biodiversity of the area: this has led to the application of a new discipline, called Agriculture Regénerative which starts from the principles of organic agriculture to then develop a vision that takes into consideration the entire ecosystem, in an overall vision that we could define as holistic. Naturally, any synthetic chemical substance is banned, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, favoring and using only organic substances. This results in healthy, ripe, clean grapes that generate equally balanced, elegant wines that respect nature and tradition.
