Domaine des Baumard

We are in the vast and beautiful Loire region, and precisely in the village of Rochefort sur Loire, a place with a truly intense and inimitable charm. This is where the Domaine des Baumard is located, a splendid family-run winery that boasts ancient traditions dating back to the 17th century. The first vineyards were planted at the beginning of the 1600s and from generation to generation the current owner Florent Baumard arrived. Centuries of experience and in-depth knowledge of the territory and the vines lead today to the production of wines that truly respond to the territory in which they are born. The cellar has an area of approximately 40 hectares, distributed equally on both banks of the Loire and here white vines are found, typical of the area such as chenin blanc, mainly, and chardonnay, while as regards the red wines the majority part of the grapes is represented by cabernet franc. The portfolio of labels focuses on maximum valorisation of the main grape variety of the area, chenin blanc, which is therefore offered in different versions, i.e. in a full and intense version in the Savennières AOC denomination, or in the captivating very soft labels, with high residual sugar, called Molleux in France, all under the denomination Coteaux du Layon AOC Moelleux. The Domaine des Baumard is, to this day, the perfect union between tradition, inherited over the centuries, and the desire for newness, for modernity.
