In a small plot of land, kissed by God and men, for around 70 years the Martini family has been producing wines with a deep sense of responsibility with respect to tradition, history and the typical winemaking of the Montalcino area. The founder is called Manfredi Martini (born in Montalcino in 1914) and around 1950, together with his wife Fortunata, also an expert farmer, they purchased the "Il Paradiso" farm. Thus was born that small agricultural company, still active today, firmly in the hands of the heirs, namely his son Florio and his granddaughters Silvia and Gioia. Manfredi, at the time, was very active not only in the cellar, but also worked to enhance the Montalcino area, which in the 1960s was still yet to be discovered and promoted. In 1967 Manfredi, together with local farmers and producers, founded the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino, which over the decades would prove to be a fundamental institution in the development of Montalcino, through what would become one of the most famous wines in the world. Manfredi's Paradise is located on the north/northeast facing side of the Montalcino hill. The company consists of 3.5 hectares of land, where, in addition to the vineyard, arranged on seven terraces at an average of 350 meters above sea level, there are olive trees, fruit trees, a vegetable garden and a small saffron cultivation. The production philosophy, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, is aimed, without compromise, at the naturalness of the final product. This is demonstrated by the adhesion of the farm to the Triple A Association (Farmers, Artisans, Artists), the first in Italy, in 2003, to gather organic, biodynamic, but also non-certified producers, all driven by the common objective of undertaking and valorising a natural agricultural path that is disappearing today, together with winemaking methodologies that find their deepest meaning in tradition. For this reason, the use of any type of fertilizer, and in general of synthetic chemical products, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, is excluded. The wines of Paradiso di Manfredi, even in the cellar, do not undergo any technical treatment, they decant and clarify naturally, they are therefore true wines, an expression of the territory in the most authentic sense and, above all, of the local vine par excellence, that is, Sangiovese Grosso, said Brunello.
