Rabajà is one of the most suitable Cru (areas) for the production of Barbaresco and Giuseppe Cortese's cellar is located in Strada Rabajà, a predestination... We are precisely in Barbaresco, a village located in the heart of the Langhe, located on the top of a gentle hill at the foot of which the Tanaro river flows. Here the vocation of the territory for the cultivation of Nebbiolo is truly unique, among the best ever and the Cortese family, which has been cultivating these vineyards for three generations, owns 8 hectares of vineyards in the heart of Rabajà. The Cortese winery has always demonstrated great love and a strong bond with its land, to which it dedicates careful and rigorous care, but above all great respect. There is a lot of sensitivity and attention for the territory and the environment on the part of the Cortese family and in fact no chemical weedkillers or any invasive treatment are used in the vineyard. In recent times, Pier Carlo and Tiziana, Giuseppe's children, have renovated the old cellar and now in the large rooms, completely underground, the wine rests in large oak barrels and barriques and finds humidity and temperature suitable for optimal ageing, process which gives it those typical peculiarities of wines of great complexity and elegance. Over time, the Giuseppe Cortese brand has established itself among enthusiasts for the vibrant character of a classic Barbaresco, as tradition dictates. The production of Barbaresco Rabajà, also offered in the Reserve version, therefore with longer aging, has been accompanied by other typical local wines: Dolcetto and Barbera, elegant interpretations, the fruit of a unique love for one's land.
