Massolino

Giovanni Massolino founded the company in Serralunga d'Alba in 1896, but it was Giuseppe, Giovanni's son, who, together with his sister Angela, built the first cellar and extended the property by annexing other lands: furthermore, together with other partners, in 1934 he founded the Barolo and Barbaresco Protection Consortium. Giovanni, Camilla and Renato, three of Giuseppe's children, achieved the turning point through the purchase of crus (absolutely suitable vineyards) which are now true legends among enthusiasts: Vigna Rionda, Margheria and Parafada. Today the heirs Franco and Roberto Massolino lead the company, assisted by their uncle Renato and Giovanni Angeli. Their work brings together the experience of an entire generation and the ambition of those who know they have to honor a historic winery and a unique terroir, that of Serralunga d'Alba. In this picturesque medieval village, located on one of the splendid hills of the Langhe, in the heart of Barolo production, the work of the Massolino winery emerges, now a national point of reference (and not only) for the production of very high quality wines. The company's objective is to make wine with passion, respecting the territory of origin, preserving the typical nature of the native vine (Nebbiolo). Massolino in fact embodies the soul of the best Barolos, a winery capable of combining the best tradition of the Langhe with that ability to innovate which leads to an extremely pure expression of the territory, faithful to itself. Today, thanks to the completion of the ambitious renovation project, which still maintains the historic structure of the manor house unaltered, another dream has come true: having the convivial spaces necessary to welcome wine enthusiasts from all over and make them feel "at home". of the world ready to taste top-class wines, of great elegance and, above all, of great longevity.
