Hartmann Donà is a dreamer, a free spirit, but also a pragmatist, qualities that have allowed him to realize his vision in the world of wine. From 1994 to 2002 he was an esteemed oenologist of the prestigious Terlano winery , he gained a lot of experience and, at a certain point, exactly in 2000, he decided that the time had come to produce wine on his own, founding the company of the same name, located in Cermes , in the province of Bolzano. One spent among the vineyards and then in the cellar, experimenting and learning. He recently declared: "My strength lies in understanding the three factors of soil , grape variety and climate , in interpreting them and working with them. In this way, original and unique products are born. With those slight differences from one vintage to another that characterizes only the authentic products of nature". Donà today is one of the reference figures in the national panorama of high quality producers and this is also due to his particularly careful choices of the purchased vineyards which are in fact cultivated on steeply sloping lands, with particularly rich in minerals. Furthermore, these are old vineyards with very deep roots that produce few bunches, with small and very rich berries. The work in the vineyard is still carried out in an artisanal way and is characterized by the utmost respect for nature and the environment , of the ecosystem and of biodiversity. And even in the cellar the rules are the same, everything is decided according to the typical nature of the vine and the vineyard from which it comes, without any forcing. This is how Hartmann Donà wines are extraordinary expressions of the terroir of origin. From Pinot Blanc to Chardonnay , from Gewürztraminer to Sauvignon Blanc and then again Lagrein and Pinot Noir : wines of great elegance, typical and unique, which surprise for their finesse and character, different vintage after vintage.
