Cerbaiona

Cerbaiona was founded in 1977 by Diego Molinari, a former airline pilot, together with his wife Nota Tadros. The pioneering work of Diego and Nora, oriented towards absolute quality but anchored in tradition, has contributed considerably to the fame and prestige of the Brunello di Montalcino denomination in the world. That of Cerbaiona is today a big name in the world of Brunello di Montalcino, a legend throughout the world. Suffice it to say that the small estate, consisting of just 13 hectares, of which 3 hectares of vineyards, was recently acquired by Gary Rieschel, an American investor, and other partners, for 6 million euros and was therefore nicknamed the " "golden vineyard" of Montalcino.
Despite the great international success, the agricultural company has never expanded into the territory and has remained faithful to the first imprinting oriented towards excellence guaranteed by a small and carefully managed production. The estate now has vineyards that have reached 40 years of age, a great added value, and the new owners Gary Rieschel, Matthew Fioretti and Andrea Mantengoli benefit from this. All cellar operations are aimed at simplicity: aging, for example, is carried out in large Slavonian oak barrels, and lasts for over thirty months, depending on the type of wine you want to obtain. Cerbaiona today produces from 10,000 to 15,000 bottles of Brunello di Montalcino annually, while the figure for Rosso di Montalcino is between 3,000 and 5,000 bottles per year. Brunello della Cerbaiona is recognizable by a unique style. It is a tough, robust and extraordinarily long-lived wine: it certainly represents one of the most glorious expressions of the entire history of Ilcinese winemaking.
