Tasca d'Almerita

"The history of the cellar is written in the land to which, for eight generations, we have reserved the attention and love that is reserved for a member of the family. Our grandparents taught us to respect it with an eye always turned to the future and this vision, still today, allows us to have lush vineyards and to cultivate rich and fertile soil. Over the years, through a precise project to valorise the native varieties and the territories with the greatest wine-growing vocation, Capofaro and Salina in the Aeolian archipelago, Tascante on Etna, Whitaker in Mozia in the province of Trapani and Sallier de La Tour in the Monreale DOC, each with its own story to write, each with a different Sicily to tell. The biggest challenge for us , now, is to preserve these places to leave our children a better environment, with constant attention to the protection of every single ecosystem."

The Tasca Counts have in fact always been one of the vanguards of Sicilian and national wine development and research. Today, Alberto and Giuseppe Tasca are taking up the baton from their father Lucio, who by combining tradition and innovation have also managed to develop ecological themes such as biodiversity and environmental sustainability.

The vineyards of Tasca d'Almerita spread across the most suitable and beautiful places in Sicily, starting from the aforementioned Tenuta Regaleali in Sclafani up to the island of Salina, land of Malvasia, passing through Sallier de La Tor in Camporeale or even along the north of Etna, with Carricante and Nerello Mascalese vines at 700 meters above sea level with 110 vineyard terraces. The project is new on the Mozia island, on the Whitaker estate, where Grillo grapes are grown.
