Conterno Fantino

The Conterno Fantino winery has long been one of the most esteemed companies in the Langhe and its Barolos are part of the enological legend of those areas (and beyond). The company was born in the early 1980s, when Lorenzo Conterno entrusted his estate (then called Colli Monfortesi) to his son Diego, his nephew Claudio and his son-in-law Guido Fantino. The three are young, but animated by a great passion and in possession of important experiences. They develop and consolidate a unique, inimitable style and above all place their wines in the elite of international wine excellence. Today the vineyards are managed organically and extend across farms that soon became famous for their ability to give depth and character to the wines: Ginestra, Mosconi, Castelletto, Bussia. The Conterno Fantino winery, always sensitive to environmental issues, has recently been renovated and is based on the use of renewable sources and techniques aimed at energy saving. Conterno Fantino's production consists of powerful and expressive Barolos, capable of evolving for a long time, matured in new French oak barriques after a maceration of approximately 10 days. These are charismatic and powerful wines, but endowed with their own exquisite refinement, always balanced and impeccable. Respect for the winemaking tradition of the area, the ecological choice, maturation in wood and long refinements are the rules necessary to achieve maximum quality. Here come to life, in this way, bottles that are the result of an unconditional love for their lands, or wines, which can be considered as a direct consequence of respect for ancient production methodologies, thanks to which expressive and vigorous oenological results are achieved, but in at the same time elegant, refined and precious.
