The Poggio di Sotto estate was founded in 1989 thanks to Piero Palmucci and is located on a hill south-east of Montalcino. Since its foundation, the estate has become famous for the high quality of its Sangiovese cultivation, quickly achieving considerable success, especially with its Brunello di Montalcino. Located in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, at the foot of Mount Amiata, the steep vineyards on the southern slopes develop at altitudes between 200 and 400 metres. The company extends over 32 hectares, of which 12 are cultivated with vineyards, registered in the Brunello di Montalcino register, and the remaining with olive groves and woods.

Added to these important factors is very scrupulous agricultural management, in which the use of chemicals is banned and winemaking in the cellar that combines ancient methods with modern technologies, such as the rotating belt for sorting the best grapes. The cellar is organically run . In short, great wines, celebrated in the guides, which improve over time.
