We are in the heart of Barbagia, a harsh territory strongly anchored to ancient local traditions. Until the end of the 20th century, the Sedilesu winery produced wine and sold it in bulk, locally, but the arrival of Giuseppe in the year 2000 marked the start of a new phase, that of producing its own labels, aiming to create wines quality. This is the fundamental step of what, in the countryside of Mamoiada, is a winemaking company that is increasingly convinced of its means and, above all, of its wines. Over time, the vineyard area increased, currently corresponding to around 15 hectares, and Giuseppe built a new and modern cellar. The vineyards are located at an average height of 650 meters above sea level; the Cannonau vineyards trained as saplings, to which are added a few rows of white grapes, locally called "granazza", have a very high average age, with plants reaching even a century of age. This means low production, but very high quality. In full respect of biodiversity, environmental balance and the surrounding ecosystem, still in its ancestral state, excellent grapes are produced which are vinified in the cellar following traditional methods, but with modern technology. The objectives are multiple: respect for the typical characteristics of the native grapes and the peculiarities of the territory. In recent years there has been a generational transition, the company is led by Giuseppe's children and grandchildren, while the latter, with his wife Grazia, now in their seventies, supervise the management which remains strictly family. And here are the labels produced: from “Mamuthone” to “S'Annada”, from “Ballu Tundu” to “Gràssia”, from “Carnevale” to “Panda Pintà”, passing through the rosé “Erèssia” and the Grappa di Cannonau. Those that come out of the Mamoiada cellar are wines that express the flavors and aromas of a unique land in the world, which are certainly worth tasting.
