The historical registers of the municipality of Montà report news of the Almondo family as early as 1300, in fact they have always lived in Località Vittori di Montà, the heart of the Arneis vineyards. But we had to wait until the early 1990s to see the turning point, with Domenico Almondo giving the small family business the decisive impulse towards quality viticulture. After graduating in agriculture, he joined the company in 1981 and immediately had an objective: to create an elegant Arneis with personality; in short, a contemporary white wine that is in step with the times. New machinery and new technologies are introduced into the cellar, such as, for example, temperature control, the use of inert gas in all cellar operations, and the wise management of "reduction". Over the years, the company continues to be family-run, as at the time of its foundation, consequently all operations, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, are carried out directly. Among the many projects under development, the company is carrying out, in collaboration with the IVV-CNR of Turin , a "clonal" selection of Arneis, i.e. the genetic improvement of the vine is pursued, in relation to the specific terroir of reference. Furthermore, since 2015 the company can count on a new cellar, equipped with all the most advanced technologies for the production of white wines. Among these, a room for controlling the temperature of the grapes before pressing, a new bottling plant, a room for storing bottles at a constant temperature of 15°C, powered by a photovoltaic system. The new project best combines technology with the aesthetics and architecture of the cellar: nothing is left to chance. The fresh and refined character of the wines corresponds to the brightness of modern spaces and the elegance of a contemporary style. The Almondo Style passes through here, a style made of great perfumes, fragrance and minerality.
