We are in the Soave area, near Verona and, precisely in Castelcerino, where in the early 70s a love story was born between Giovanna and Giuseppe and, in parallel, also the Coffele winery. The history of this reality goes back a long way, and dates back to around the mid-19th century, when the Visco family, or Giovanna's, began producing wine. But it was Giovanna and Giuseppe who strongly believed in the project of producing their own high quality wines and therefore created the current structure, which continues to strongly believe in Soave and its wonderful territory, maintaining its headquarters in the historic 17th century residence, from which everything originated. But the streak continues and, today, the management of the company is entrusted to Giovanna and Giuseppe's children, namely Alberto and Chiara. Alberto prepared well before joining the company, convinced that only knowledge can lead to quality; he then graduated from the Agricultural Institute of San Michele All'Adige, and today he likes to define himself as a "young traditionalist", that is, the application of winemaking technology at the service of tradition. He personally takes care of every single phase of production, which has allowed him, over the years, to obtain important and prestigious recognitions, such as the Tre Bicchieri awarded by the Gambero Rosso guide. Chiara instead takes care of the commercial area, which over the years has seen a growing interest and development in exports, especially in Europe and the United States. Currently there are 25 hectares of vineyards, and Garganega is grown, the fundamental grape for Soave, as well as Trebbiano, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. A strong ecological sensitivity of the family has led the company to the Organic Certification and every year the average production is around 130 thousand bottles, among which stand out, in addition to Soave, one of the best-selling white wines in Italy, also Amarone, the Recioto di Soave DOCG and the “Nuji”, a very interesting red “cut”, made with international vines.
