The Torrevento company is located in the heart of the Alta Murgia National Park , the first rural park in Italy, an area dominated by the inseparable relationship between man and the environment, in a perfect fusion between tradition, human activity and nature. In 1948 the Liantonio family purchased the ancient Benedictine monastery with 57 hectares of surrounding vineyards in the “Torrevento” district, right at the foot of the famous Castel del Monte . Two years later Gaetano Liantonio inherited the estate, renovated it and continued the production activity by creating the rural wine cellar, Vinicola Torrevento. But it was in 1989 , with Francesco Liantonio (current President and CEO) that Torrevento Srl was born

Today, rural wine production is still the company's strength. In a harsh and stony territory we recover and enhance native vines suitable for best expressing the wine-growing vocation of the entire Apulian territory.

Large cellars dug into the rock of the Benedictine monastery store the wine, aged in precious oak barrels and small barriques, according to the ancient local winemaking traditions which are combined today with the most modern winemaking techniques. The cellar is organically run .
