Edi Kante sul Carso is considered the leader, the trailblazer, the one who brought the wine-growing reality of an area where it was thought to be almost impossible to plant vines and make quality wine to the headlines. Its astonishing cellar is a monument to natural oenology, made up of three underground floors entirely dug into the rock. He is proud of this, has a generous soul and is generous with advice for everyone. He loves his land, his rocks, the typical vines of the area, the Vitovska and the Terrano which have always accompanied his meals, but also the Malvasia originally from nearby Slovenia. Edi Kante appeared on the Karst wine scene in 1980, the vineyards developed in more or less small plots obtained from sinkholes, basins of fertile land that emerge between the karst rocks or on stony soils with additions of red earth: all of them have however been " invented” by Edi, who created them by breaking rocks and moving stones.
Every year around 65,000 bottles are made, divided into eight labels, also including two sparkling wines, highly expressive of the terroir of origin and the climatic year spent in the vineyard. Original and progressive wines, the result of the great attention that Edi places in every single act of the production chain. The Kante branded bottles are gems that, from harvest to harvest, win over more and more enthusiasts, as well as receiving the approval of national and international critics.
