This winery offers the perfect example of how, through a truly enlightened production philosophy, the typical vines of southern Italy can reach very important quality levels and commercial success. Quintodecimo was born in recent times, thanks to the intuition of Luigi Moio, owner of this winery since 2001, together with his wife Laura. Despite the fairly recent history, the roots of the passion that Luigi has for good wine actually lie in a very consolidated past. Luigi Moio took his first steps as a winemaker in the important family winery, where he was able to acquire crucial knowledge on production methods. Today the philosophy that inspires Luigi is to combine science and poetry within each bottle: the final consumer must in fact be able to perceive these two souls not as individual, but as a whole that amazes him, but also convinces him on a rational level. The wines produced by the company include the great classics of the Irpinia area such as Taurasi, Greco di Tufo and Fiano di Avellino. The precision and cleanliness of these wines are the direct result of the constant monitoring that Luigi and his wife implement during every single phase of the production process, with particular attention especially to what happens in the vineyard. A walk between the rows will be enough to understand that these vineyards are cared for exactly as if they were home gardens, an aspect that Luigi and his wife care about in a particular way to demonstrate their great respect for the raw material. Quintodecimo's production therefore includes the great white and red wines typical of the region, which are generally vinified in purity, faithfully conveying the territory they represent, as very few other examples in the area are able to do. Characterized by a discreet elegance and excellent aging capacity, these wines boast an enviable harmony.
