Fino Gianfranco

The company was founded in 2004 with the purchase of a small vineyard in the Manduria countryside of 1.30 hectares. Today the company owns approximately 14.5 ha of corporate surface area.
From the beginning, the company mission was to produce wines from 50 to 90 year old vineyards, trained on the Apulian sapling, with great personality and a strong territorial identity.
ES, a Primitive from Manduria Doc, immediately gets noticed by food and wine journalists and passionate bloggers: it is a wine that divides critics, you love it or you hate it.
From the 2004 vintage onwards, Gianfranco Fino obtained the most important national recognitions, even bringing the Gambero Rosso Winemaker of the Year title to Puglia in 2010, an award that had never arrived before in Central-Southern Italy. Even the food and wine guides unanimously award Gianfranco Fino Viticoltore the title of best company in Puglia, with great prestige for the region and for the territory of Manduria in particular

The wines produced by Gianfranco Fino are essentially two: Es and Jo . The first recalls the term with which Freud identifies our unconscious or rather it is the instinct and unbridled passion towards something; Jo, on the other hand, takes its name from the Ionian Sea that washes the coasts of Manduria.

His careful work and his great wines say more than a thousand words: his Primitivo di Manduria ranks among the most innovative wines of Puglia which, while maintaining a traditional side traceable in the assembly of grapes from different vineyards, a practice consolidated by these parts, reveals truly surprising power and body.

Finally, after decades of "third party" production and blending wines, Puglia is making itself known throughout the world for its quality, unexpressed for too many years.
