The deep connection that the Bastianich family has with the world of wine takes us back decades and generations. In fact, it dates back to meetings with the most important winegrowing families in the Seventies and Eighties and to the promotion of the best Friulian wines in the menus of the various restaurants of the Bastianich family in the United States. It was precisely this passion for wine, combined with the desire to rediscover and rediscover one's origins, that led the Bastianich family, in 1997, to plant the first vineyards in Buttrio and Cividale del Friuli, in one of the most suitable areas of Italy to the production of white wines. The vineyards, all owned by Tenuta Bastianich, are located in two distinct areas of the Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC. The most important is located on the hills of Buttrio and Premariacco, in the hottest and southernmost area of the DOC. Influenced by the heat coming from the sea, the area offers the grapes for the production of the company's Cru wines (i.e. the most important) , more full-bodied and structured, such as Vespa Bianco , Vespa Rosso , Plus and Calabrone . The cellar's vineyards cover a total of 35 hectares.
