The Aldo Conterno Farms, located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, in the province of Cuneo, can boast a history that dates back to the nineteenth century: at the time, in fact, Giuseppe Conterno ran a small wine business in the area. The Poderi were officially born in 1969, the year in which Aldo Conterno founded the current winery upon returning from a long trip to California. Nowadays, the company is considered a point of reference in the wine production sector in Piedmont and is famous for the quality of its bottles. The climatic and territorial conditions of Monforte d'Alba allow the cultivation of numerous types of high quality grapes. In particular, at the farms Nebbiolo is used, an indigenous Piedmont vine, as well as a true symbol of wine production in the Langhe. Barbera is also produced, itself an illustrious expression of the Piedmontese territory, and Chardonnay, a white grape variety widespread throughout the world. Aldo Conterno's products therefore derive from the conciliation of local and international tradition. A peculiarity of the cellar in question consists in total respect for the environment. Only natural fertilizers are used and synthetic fertilizers and herbicides are completely avoided: we can, in fact, speak of authentic organic cultivations. This method is reflected in the authenticity of the raw materials, thanks to which structured and fragrant wines are created.
