Chateau de Tracy

History, tradition and quality are condensed in the Château de Tracy winery which has dominated the Loire area for more than five centuries. The history that accompanies this winemaking reality is so fascinating: it is intertwined with King Charles VII and the Hundred Years' War. It would seem, in fact, that the current director, Juliette Assay, is a descendant of a Scottish noble family who arrived in France precisely to help the king. But where exactly is Château de Tracy located? The company is located approximately two hundred kilometers south of Paris in the famous AOC area of Pouilly-Fumé. The company's rows cover a large part of the Loria hills, starting from the slopes and reaching the flatter areas. The soils from which they come to life are rich in clay and calcareous marl. Château de Tracy embraces viticulture that is attentive to the characteristics of the territory and respectful of the environment. Systemic treatments are, in fact, excluded from production procedures and chemical herbicides are completely banned. Furthermore, new technologies integrate in a balanced and organic way with traditional production methods. This philosophy nourishes and accompanies the entire process; in fact the grapes arrive in the cellar at perfect ripeness and are treated in such a way as to enhance the characteristics of the fruit. The result materializes in the production of wines of absolute quality. The labels that today bear the name of the Château de Tracy company are Mademoiselle de T, Haute Densité and 101 Rangs. Excellent wines that bring into the glass all the characteristics of the territory from which they come: the Loire.
