Salento has always had a strong binding tradition, with the production of high quality wines, appreciated all over the world. It is in this context that Tommaso Rubino decided to begin his adventure, purchasing four estates in the Brindisi countryside in the 1980s, to undertake an activity in which the union between Salento tradition and technological innovation would find its maximum expression with the creation of wines with a strong and decisive character, like the population that inhabits these lands. A family business carried out with passion and dedication to enhance the native Salento vines, expertly cultivated on the 300 hectares of the estate. The company has specialized in the cultivation of a particular red grape variety, Susumaniello, originally from Dalmatia, but now well rooted in Salento and especially in the Brindisi area. From this vine, the Rubino family was the first company to produce a pure wine of excellence, the Torre Testa, award-winning and unique, derived from Susumaniello, and to be awarded the "3 glasses Gambero Rosso" rating. The flagship wines of Tenute Rubino, in addition to the aforementioned Torre Testa, are the classics of the winemaking tradition of Salento, namely Primitivo, Negroamaro and Malvasia: to these, however, are added new experiments that interpret modern trends with wines Salende, Oltremè and Libens which are respectively: pure Vermentino, Susumaniello and an elegant extra dry sparkling wine. Excellence and originality.
