Erste+Neue

The vineyards of the Erste+Neue winery extend for a total of 250 hectares, starting from the warm and sunny climate of the shores of Lake Caldaro, passing through prestigious areas such as Termeno and Santa Maddalena, up to the cool breezes that cross the plateau at foot of the Mendola. This enormous extension was made possible by the merger in 1986 of the first Caldaro social winery, “Erste”, with the new Caldaro social winery “Neue” (founded in 1900 and 1925 respectively) and with the further annexation of the Baron winery in 1991 Josef di Pauli: thus one of the most prestigious and traditional wineries in Alto Adige was born, representing a piece of winemaking history in Alto Adige for more than a century. Erste+Neue makes its wines from native varieties such as Gewürztraminer, Lagrein, Schiava, and from "international" grapes such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot. The geographical position offers soils, exposures and temperature variations that allow the different vines to best express their potential and character. Today the vineyards are managed by over 400 members who, followed by the technical staff of oenologist Gerhard Sanin, deliver their harvest to the cellar every year. The experience of generations and innovative technology mean that the production of the Erste+Neue winery undoubtedly has a high profile, in terms of quality, expressing the South Tyrolean territory with great elegance.
The successful mix between tradition and modernity, already expressed in the name, make this reality a virtuous cooperative model and a point of reference for those looking for classic South Tyrolean wines at attractive prices. Four different production lines for a total of around thirty labels: fine and elegant bottles, representatives of a territory capable of satisfying the needs of the most demanding consumers.
