Venica's history can now be defined as almost centuries-old. In fact, it all began in February 1930, when Daniele Venica decided to buy a plot of land that would later become the nerve center of the winery. After a generational change, which ensured the success and growth of the Venica family as an important winery in Collio, today the three brothers Giorgio, Giampaolo and Gianni are at the helm of the company, who proudly carry forward the fruit of their great passion for the good wine handed down by ancestors. Passion transforms into dedication already in the vineyard where, on the almost forty hectares of vines, very specific agronomic practices are followed. The intent that guides this working method is the care towards the raw material, which passes through the need to have a low environmental impact. This aspect is anything but secondary: respect for the principles of sustainability is increasingly important nowadays, as well as one of the key elements for obtaining an excellent quality wine. The vineyards are located on the most suitable hills of the Dolegna area: here the rows are subjected to very rigorous care, to best preserve the characteristics of a special ecosystem, which fully benefits from the soils of Marnic and clay origin. This approach is subsequently transferred to the cellar, where technological innovations aimed at optimizing production processes are combined with methods based on respect for tradition. The results are excellent wines, capable of producing excellent single-varietal expressions in the bottle. In fact, the company's choice is to propose important vinifications in purity, such as the native Tocai, but also those vines that express themselves here at very high quality levels, among which we find Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. Today this winery qualifies as one of the most important in the entire Collio area, thanks to its wines which pay homage to the complexity of this splendid and suitable territory.
