It is truly fascinating to know and think that the farmhouse where the Sireci family still makes wine today and creates its precious wines is the same one built about 600 years ago, precisely in 1469, by the noble Aragonese Abatellis family who, even at the time, produced wine . This typical Sicilian construction, with a quadrangular courtyard, is the fulcrum of the activities of Feudo Montoni, which was purchased by Rosario Sireci at the end of the 19th century, recognizing in this area particular characteristics linked to the terroir and its biodiversity. Already at the time he found ancient plants of Perricone, Nero d'Avola, Catarratto and fell in love above all with wines that present elegant and unusual traits. Elio, Fabio's father, joined the company in the second half of the sixties and among his first actions, he undertook the so-called Massale Selection, that is, he selected the best plants present on the estate and with them planted the new vineyards and renovated the cellar. Elio transmits to his son Fabio the passion for wine, respect for Nature, the ethic of work and sacrifice and so, for over 30 years, the latter has continued the work of his grandfather and father, guardian of ancient traditions , but with an eye to the future: in fact Fabio understands how important it is in his work to know the past well in order to plan for tomorrow. And so the third generation heir personally participates in all the different phases of the production process, from the vineyard to the cellar. And this happens through organic farming procedures, understood not as a trend, but as a way... of living and working. Respect for the environment and, above all, the idea of not wanting to exploit nature, but to preserve it for future generations was the main input to undertake this path which also brings with it the undoubted advantage of making healthy and quality. The varieties of grapes grown and the wines produced are all native: we find Nerello Mascalese, Perricone, Nero d'Avola and also the white Cataratto in a truly fine and intriguing version. Wines that arise from deep passion and the territory.
