Ca' Lojera

The Ca' Lojera winery is a small family-run business, founded in the 90s, in the heart of an area strongly suited to viticulture for centuries and which produces a great wine called Lugana. The agricultural company was founded by Franco and Ambra Tiraboschi who divide the tasks equally: Franco follows the operations in the vineyard and in the cellar, while Ambra welcomes customers who come to the cellar for visits and tastings; it also takes care of the management of the farmhouse, housed in the same structure as the cellar. Ca' Lojera is located in the Peschiera del Garda area, in the heart of a particular terroir, on flat and hilly terrain, where the soil is characterized by a predominantly clayey composition. The vineyards owned by Ca' Lojera extend for approximately 20 hectares; among the rows, where the oldest plants reach fifty years of age, various types of grapes are grown, both native and "international", among which the turbiana or trebbiano di Lugana stand out, the undisputed protagonist of the Lugana DOC, and then chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Lugana, nicknamed here the "Lord of the Great Lake" was a true fatal attraction for Franco, who in the space of a few years managed to grasp its most salient aspects and create excellent products worthy of his fame. Ca' Lojera works only and exclusively with its own grapes and a salient characteristic, from a technical point of view, is represented by the fact that the wines are subjected to long fermentations on the fine lees, while most of the refinements take place in steel, to keep the the characteristics of the vines used. Ca' Lojera's overall production is ten labels, all of excellent quality. Extremely versatile wines in pairings: the production of classic method reds, rosés, whites and sparkling wines allows for a large number of pairings in the kitchen. The winery's flagship label must certainly be mentioned, namely the Lugana Riserva “Del Lupo”, an intense, complex wine of great complexity, but above all long-lived.
