They have always been winemakers and the Bera family has always remained tenaciously linked to the Astesana hills. Skinny and stingy hills, but splendidly suited to the production of quality wines.
In 1758 Giovanni Battista Bera purchased some vineyards in Canelli, belonging to the Sovereign Order of Malta, definitively transferring the family residence there. Since then they have continued to cultivate the same property, and to make their own wine from the grapes produced. This sense of continuity has led to the choice of organic as a true philosophy of life since 1964. Today the Bera Vittorio e Figli company manages 10 hectares of property in Canelli in a strictly family way, in the heart of the most classic and ancient production area of Moscato d'Asti. The vineyards are cultivated with the most rigorous organic methodologies, certified by ICEA. The "naturalness" adopted in the vineyard is then stubbornly pursued in the cellar too. The wines are vinified according to traditional concepts and with the convinced rejection of modern "interventionist" practices, such as the use of selected yeasts, enzymes, chemical-physical treatments of various kinds, concentrations, etc.
The family coat of arms is made up of Moscato d'Asti, to which are added small but qualified productions of the most classic and traditional wines of the " Astese homeland".
