Ronco del Gnemiz

We are on the Colli Orientali del Friuli, a spectacular area for its landscapes, with its typical terraced lands, unique for its vocation for viticulture which, in fact, includes the largest number of native vines in Italy. The Ronco del Gnemiz winery is located on the Rosazzo hill, in the municipality of San Giovanni al Natisone; it is a company founded about thirty years ago and managed by Serena Palazzolo and her husband, the oenologist Christian Patat, assisted by their sons Zeno Giovanni and Jacopo. A family-run company, which has always been managed according to the highest quality standards. The estate extends for approximately 30 hectares of which 16.5 are cultivated with vineyards and, above all, under an organic regime, including plants over 60 years of age, with a microclimate particularly favorable to high-quality viticulture. The cultivated vines are Friulano, Sauvignon and Chardonnay for the whites and Merlot, Cabernet and Schioppettino for the reds. As mentioned, the company philosophy and practices are aimed at total respect for the surrounding places and territory, with very limited use of synthetic chemical substances. In the cellar, the white grapes undergo delicate pressing and fermentation takes place in wooden containers, while the red ones ferment in steel, with prolonged maceration on the skins and mature for a long time in wooden barrels. All these elements combine to create wines of great character and identity, among which the Friulano "San Zuan" or the Chardonnay "Sol" and the Sauvignon "Peri" are absolutely worth taking into consideration, but the blend is also of great interest among the reds. Bordeaux “dr. Palazzolo”, of great structure, finesse and elegance. The entire range is to be discovered, maintaining a tradition and modernity that offer unique sensations.
