The Lazio Rosso IGT "Madreselva", from the Casale del Giglio company, is obtained from the combination of the grapes of three vines, namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot: the product in question therefore comes from a real wine experimentation that has its roots in the mid-80s. The winery has its headquarters in the Agro Pontino, an area located south of Rome and characterized by a type of volcanic soil that is particularly favorable for the cultivation of vines. The harvest aimed at the production of Lazio Rosso IGT "Madreselva" takes place in different periods, since the maturation of the three vines occurs in different phases of the year: we therefore speak of a staggered harvest. Consequently, the vinification of the three varieties also takes place separately. However, the latter are combined in the process of maturation, which takes about 20 months, and refinement in the bottle, which lasts 8-12 months. The Lazio Rosso IGT "Madreselva" by Casale del Giglio is a wine characterized by a velvety tannic texture and a medium and balanced body.
